2026–27 studio information

Studio Guidelines

Class preparation, tuition, recital information, and studio expectations for dancers and families.

Studio expectations

Class placement

Placement considers age, ability, and maturity, with the instructor making the final decision. Returning dancers are placed by their previous teachers. New dancers ages 13+ begin in Advanced I for evaluation and may be placed in a performance or non-performance class. Speak with a teacher before enrolling in a more advanced level.

Attendance & makeups

Regular attendance supports progress. Missed classes do not qualify for refunds or tuition deductions. Dancers may make up an absence in another section of their class during the week. Under the registration contract, missing more than 20% of classes prevents advancement; dancers in the highest recital level move to non-performance classes after exceeding that threshold, without a refund.

Arriving on time

Dancers should be ready at the start of class. Late arrivals interrupt instruction and reduce the dancer’s class time.

Drop-off & pickup

Bring dancers immediately before class and collect them immediately afterward. The published arrival and pickup window is 5–10 minutes around class times. Staff do not supervise students outside their scheduled classes. Keep the driveway clear; do not park there.

Parents & visitors

Families may watch from the observation area. Parents and visitors may not enter the classrooms.

Weather closures

For severe weather, the studio follows East Baton Rouge Parish school closures. Refer to the studio calendar for scheduled holiday breaks.

Dancewear

Dancewear is available to purchase through the studio. Use the dress code below to prepare for your class, and confirm recital shoe and tight colors before ordering.

Lost & found

Label shoes and clothing. Retrieve forgotten belongings promptly from the studio’s lost-and-found bin; items cannot be held at the front desk. Unclaimed items are donated to the Salvation Army on the 15th of each month. Tari’s is not responsible for belongings left, lost, or stolen at the studio.

Tuition & registration

Published class rates for August 2026–May 2027. Company and Pre-Professional Ballet program charges follow their separate agreements.

Registration

$85 per student

Submit the completed registration contract with the fall registration fee.

Tuition covers the full season

Tuition is calculated for a ten-month year, including holidays. Monthly payments run from August through May; tuition is still due in May.

2026–27 monthly class tuition
Class lengthMonthly tuition
1 hour$95
1½ hours$125
2 hours$165
3 hours$215
Each additional 1-hour class per student$90

Automatic payments

A signed Autocharge Agreement is required at registration and must be renewed each year. Tuition and applicable fees are charged to the card on file on the first of each month. The agreement also authorizes charges for private lessons and other studio balances.

Late & overdue accounts

The account must have a zero balance by the 5th to avoid a late fee of $10 or 10%, whichever is greater, regardless of the day of the week. Declined or uncleared card payments are subject to the same late fee. The studio may remove a dancer from class after an account is more than 30 days overdue; the contract provides for referral of past-due accounts for collection.

Recital & fees

Recital-class dancers are required to perform and attend the required classes and rehearsals. Non-performance classes do not participate.

Includes one video of your performance. A recording of an additional performance may be ordered; ask the studio for the current price.

Rehearsal & performance

The 2027 recital is planned for May at the Dunham School Theatre. See the studio calendar and your class assignment for confirmed rehearsal and performance dates.

The registration contract calls for dancers to check in one hour before their performance, remain backstage with teachers until the approximately three-hour recital finishes, and sign out by class. Parents may not go backstage.

Recital shoes & tights

Required colors are announced in January 2027. Order the correct shoes and tights by February 1; a 10% late fee applies after that date. Any shoe color or style is permitted for class beforehand, as stated in the seasonal schedule.

Fees & cancellations

Video, printing, recital, and costume fees are due on the first of their scheduled month and are subject to the late-payment policy. These fees are non-refundable. If the recital is cancelled, the contract provides a studio credit for video, printing, and recital fees toward future classes. Costume fees are excluded from that credit.

Changes & withdrawals

Give written notice

Send written notice before the first of the month in which you wish to stop classes, so tuition is not charged for that month. Tuition and other fees continue until the studio receives the withdrawal notice.

Registration, tuition, and other fees are non-refundable, including when classes have not started or a dancer has not attended. Missed classes do not reduce tuition; makeups are permitted.

Recital-class commitment

The 2026–27 registration contract lists October 30, 2026 as the final recital-class withdrawal date. Withdrawing after that deadline leaves the family responsible for tuition and the associated costume, recital, and picture fees through the 2027 recital.

For enrollment after the season has begun, contact the studio to confirm availability.

Shutdowns

The contract provides for classes to continue on Zoom if a government shutdown prevents in-person instruction. Registration and tuition are not refunded for those closures.
