Training Technique + Company rehearsals

Studio Baton Rouge, Louisiana

More than a competition team.

Company dancers work toward stronger technique, confident performance, and the discipline to keep improving. The training also supports longer-term goals in high school and college dance.

Respect, teamwork, and a positive attitude are part of that work. Dancers learn to support one another and represent their studio together.

Dance Company FAQs

How is Company membership decided?

Dancers attend the required summer classes and audition. Teachers assess ability, work ethic, and dedication; selected dancers receive an invitation and their families attend an information meeting.

Which Company groups are offered?

The Company has seven groups: Doodlebugs, Tiny Tots, Peewee, Mini, Junior, Teen, and Senior. Ask the studio which group and training level fit your dancer.

What classes are required?

Each group has its own technique classes and Company rehearsal schedule. Training expands from combo classes for the youngest dancers to ballet, tap, jazz, hip hop, and additional technique work for older groups.

Are solos part of Company?

Solo requirements vary by group. Solos are selected during the summer audition and involve weekly rehearsal and regular teacher coaching. Competition entry may be limited by the event; ask about your dancer’s requirements.

Does Company involve travel?

The Company season includes conventions, regional competitions, and national finals. Required events depend on the group. Families should review the calendar, travel arrangements, and full costs before accepting an invitation.

How does Company differ from Pre-Professional Ballet?

Company develops competitive dancers through training in multiple styles and team performance. Pre-Professional Ballet is a separate, auditioned program for dancers pursuing a professional or academic ballet path.
